Northeast Whitewater’s 2024 Season Recap
As we close out 2024, we’re thrilled to reflect on the many successes and changes that made this year unforgettable. From exciting new additions to record-breaking experiences, this season showcased the best of Northeast Whitewater. Here’s a look at what made 2024 so special.
New Additions in 2024
Upper Campground Expansion
This year, we introduced a brand-new upper campground, providing more space for our guests to stay and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. These new sites quickly became a favorite for larger groups, including scout troops and summer camp groups. Guests have loved the privacy and natural surroundings, making it a great spot to unwind and after a day of adventure.
A Fresh New Look
To kick off the season, we gave our entire facility a facelift by staining all of our buildings and extended facility. This not only refreshed the appearance but also ensured our base felt warm and welcoming for guests arriving for their adventures.
River Roots Café
The opening of River Roots Café was one of our proudest moments this year! Located right inside our base, the café offers locally sourced coffee, espresso drinks, and breakfast sandwiches to fuel our guests for the day ahead. We can’t wait to introduce our in-house baked goods next season, which we know will become fast favorites.
New Patio Space
Our new patio area was another exciting addition, providing an inviting outdoor space for guests to relax, access Wi-Fi, and enjoy the natural beauty of our base. Whether it’s sipping coffee from the café or catching up on emails between adventures, the patio has been a hit. While we’re thrilled with how it turned out, we’re not done yet—2025 will bring even more upgrades to this space to make it even more functional and welcoming.
Family Yurts
We converted our two bunk yurts into family yurts, enhancing comfort and versatility for overnight stays. These cozy spaces now feature a queen bed, two bunks, and a twin bed above the queen, making them perfect for families of up to seven.
Unforgettable Experiences
Record-Breaking Moose Sightings
2024 will forever be remembered as the year of the moose! With the highest success rate in company history, our guests experienced the magic of seeing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. Our incredible guides played a huge role in making these adventures unforgettable for our guests. Our guides’ expertise and passion for wildlife truly enhanced these encounters. As one guest shared:
4 Rivers in 4 Days Challenge
This epic adventure had participants tackling all four rivers in just four days, and it was a total hit! From thrilling rapids to the awesome camaraderie among the group, it was the ultimate test of endurance and teamwork. Our guides went all out to make sure everyone felt supported and had a blast. America Outdoors Conference Adventures
In December, Jeremy, Derek, and Chastity headed to Chattanooga for the annual America Outdoors Conference—with a few fun stops along the way! After an eventful day of travel, we landed in Nashville and enjoyed a show at the legendary Grand Ole Opry. The next day, on our way to Chattanooga we made a quick stop in Lynchburg to explore the Jack Daniels facility before continuing our journey. At the conference, we connected with new friends, caught up with old ones, and gathered plenty of fresh ideas. A highlight of the trip was getting to meet our new partners at Outfitter Marketing Pros face-to-face. We’re so excited about this growing partnership and can’t wait to see where it takes us! Before heading back to Maine, we wrapped up our trip with a visit to Ruby Falls, where we took a tour of the stunning underground waterfall. It was a great way to cap off an adventure filled with inspiration, new connections, and plenty of learning.
